I loved dressing my kids when they still allowed me, my style for them was a perfect mix of bohemian chic and preppy cute. They fitted right in with this vision I had of what my life as a mom would look like. It involved a home straight out of a design magazine, with hip furnishings and educational toys. Long walks on beaches and picnics under oak trees…. Pinterest Perfect!
AND THEN MY PERFECT LITTLE MONSTERS STARTED COMUNICATING IN THEIR OWN “AWSOME” WAY!
As it turns out, they have their own opinions on everything, from clothing to food to home décor. My children seem to be instinctively drawn to mismatched clothing and clashing prints. Unfortunately for me, their fashion taste rarely meshes with mine….
As perfectly imperfect as it may sound, I had to surrender my vision of what my life as a mom would look like. Not only do my home rarely look anything like the interiors from a design magazine but very rarely do we have the perfect picnic and long strolls on the beach. It’s often much more like a scene from a Disney cartoon with me trying to get the girls down from branches in that perfect oak tree or running after them into the ocean. So surrendering my choice of clothing for them was one of the easier ones, but that also means that if they want to wear rain boots with fairy wings and swimming costumes then we go with it.
This specific day it my youngest decided on leggings and her swimming costume….. I was both horrified and cracking up about this perfectly mismatched outfit!

These are the gorgeous kids of my baby brother and sister in-law, which by the way, got married exactly 2 years ago today. And yes, I did those pictures as well 😉 Here is a link to their wedding pictures.
Twice as much to love …. , these two will never not know love. Their parents adore them, big sister is still a little sceptical but I’m sure she will get there, not to mention their grandparents, aunts, uncle and all the little cousins are totally in love with them.
Twice as much love, laughter, giggles, hope, blessings,prayers and all things good from above! That’s my wish for these little boys. May you always know our Lord, your Creator. May you always know that you are family and that we stick together. May you always know love. May you always know laughter and happiness and may you always be blessed!
And yes may you be twice as naughty just to get back at my baby brother!

Indeed did He touch our hearts and bless us with our twins. Yes I call them “our” because this is the birth story of my baby brother’s twins. As all babies in our family, they are born to the family 🙂 Very rarely are they just born to their parents 😉 Making us one huge family with tons of kids to try and raise, but I like it that way.
To me all births are magical and special, but to be present at one of your own, just adds another dimension to the incredible story of birth. These 2 were a little eager, born at 35 weeks but they were both a good weight at 2.36 and 2.39 kg’s. They initially struggled to breath and was taken to ICU immediately after birth, but true to their fighting spirits they only spend a couple of days there.

We are truly blessed to have these twins and thank God everyday for the path he has chosen for our family to walk.

Made me wonder what my happiness are based on and I realised I need to work harder not to base my happiness on the people around me, my family, my kids, my work, my hubby, my surroundings, my home, what I have achieved or not achieved for the day, Oh and so many more … in order to be truly happy I need to be thankful and grateful. I need to see each thing in my life as they are, a blessing, a special gift God has chosen for me!
Like this gift with all the joy and happiness of the world in her eyes ….

I have a little more time at the moment ,emphasis on little, and I’m determine to sort out my own pictures. Starting with my, now 10 month olds, newborn session. (I will still show you those) But I came across these, taken on the same day as the newborn session. She was only 5 days old in these photos. I could not even remember that I have taken these, but looking back in the archives these are so much more valuable to my heart than the “NEWBORN SESSION” I am so glad I have taken these. Yes your newborn sessions and annual family photos have there place, a very important place but don’t let them be the only pictures you take.
This is ouma giving her, her bath. She will never fit into ouma’s hands just like that.
I guess what I’m trying to say take photo’s every single day!
Treasure these moments and don’t look back at them right away. Leave them for a while to simmer, these moments get better as your memories fades, and I quote Dr Suess :” Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory” Pictures are the only thing that is witness to your memories, don’t forget to take them ……

Tiny little toes and feet always make my heart melt. These gorgeous little things belong to my youngest daughter taken at her new born shoot October last year. Yes, Yes I know I’m a bit behind, full new born shoot still to be blogged, I’ve spend all of my free time with either one of my 2 daughters. It’s been one heck of a ride the past couple of months as this little one is 3 months already and changed our lives forever. I never knew what a huge adjustment a new baby in the house will be. Okay fine I knew it was going to be hard, but no one can prepare you for a new little one, whether it’s the first, second or last.
All that said, tiny toes still make me go weak at the knees and make gurgling noises. I would not change anything, except maybe create a 34 hour day…….. and as this quote say I truly hope that both my little ones will never forget their way home…….

What do you pray over your children? Is there anything more important than Spiritual Wisdom? Would everything else not fall in place if you have spiritual wisdom? If you have the knowledge of His will and you try to live your life by God’s will, will His grace not shine upon you with the brightness of all the stars in the sky? Will you not be embraced with His consuming and ever lasting love? Is that not all that we need?
With this post I would like to start a discussion on what we need to pray over our children and why. I would like to encourage you join in, as these young ones are our future and we as parents need to equip them with the armour they need, to stand strong in this crazy world they grow up in. What do you pray over your children? What are the lessons you would want your most precious gifts to always live by and carry in their hearts?

Meet my family. These were taken at Zinkwazi Beach on our every 2nd year annual family holiday, which is a fun, meddling, loving, crazy, interfering, protective, dysfunctional time of togetherness, filled with hugs and kisses.
This post is way overdue as we were blessed with 2 new members added to this crazy bunch, since these were taken. The heart of our family is growing in leaps and bounds this year as we are adding another little one before the end of the year, taking the grand children count from 3 to 6. And might I add that you will not find prouder grandparents then the ones in these pictures.
Every single member of this clan is a little nutty in their own way but strangely this close unit is what’s keeping us sane in this crazy world we live, love and laugh in.
Love you all insanely and will fight and protect you passionately!

In the past few months we had a bundel of new things and exciting things that turned our lifes in to that ever dreading rat race, and at times this rat fell of the wheel…..
Which by the way can be confusing at times but is not always a bad thing as it were times when I was shaking my head from the fall that I got to experience these moments with my daughter, that I might have missed on the spinning wheel.
Every now and then get of the wheel, even if it means you have to jump and break something, but get off, embrace and be thankful for God’s blessings in your life.
